Lawrence House offers music, visual art, literature, performances and children’s art programs. Through a newspaper article, The Judith & Norman Alix Foundation learned this centre for the arts was in financial strife and had approached the city for funding, without which it could not continue to operate.
When The Sarnia Art Gallery faced losing its space at the Bayside Mall, it looked like the gallery might have to shut its doors. A $1,500,000 donation from the Foundation allowed Sarnia to build a spacious, new art gallery.
Helping youth to build self-esteem and learn creative methods of self-expression is at the core of Harmony for Youth’s mission. Volunteers assist youth with homework, tutoring and mentoring as well as providing fun and productive activities for all ages.
In 2008 the Sarnia Rotary Charitable Foundation decided to donate funds for the building of a new facility for three related organizations: Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Rebound.
