The Story

Challenge

The Sarnia Concert Association provides world class musical performances to people in Sarnia Lambton. They are the oldest voluntary concert association in Ontario. In 2001, the Sarnia Concert Association obtained a grant from the Trillium Foundation to purchase a refurbished 9 1/2 foot Yamaha grand piano. The benefits of this instrument are felt by multiple groups using the Imperial Theatre including the International Symphony Orchestra and Singers, Imperial Theatre programming, Little Theatre programming, and many more. The grand piano was in need of extensive and costly repairs, in order to keep the piano operational.

Solution

The Sarnia Concert Association was successful in receiving partial grant money and donations to start the first phase of the repair work. With the help from our foundation’s $10,000 grant, the Sarnia Concert Association was able to finish the necessary repairs, keeping the grand piano operational and sounding spectacular.

Project Status

The repair work to the grand piano is complete.
